土耳其所產品種稱為歐洲榛果，

果實大營養豐富、烘焙後的榛果天生具有一股無法形容的迷人香味，味道甘美，被視為「珍果」其果實（榛果）豐碩，因此象徵生育。據說，早在西元前三百年，土耳其北部的黑海沿岸邊的山坡上， 已經有榛樹的蹤跡，榛果樹生長於森林與灌木樹籬，是一種常見於歐洲森林中的矮小植物，其中以吉瑞桑省（Giresun）出品的榛果，在產量或品質上，都可稱為世界一流，榛果油富含脂肪酸，可滋潤肌膚並預防肌膚缺水，幫助抗氧化，且含有鎂、鈣、鉀等微量元素。榛果亦幫助視力，舒緩用眼過度的狀況。
